Token verification
Token verification is a review of your token and the project behind it. When it passes, your token shows a verified tick, Verified by VestaScan, on its page and in Explore.
For investors, the tick means the issuer passed identity checks and the listing was reviewed. It doesn't mean VestaScan recommends the investment.
Before you start
- Verify your identity first. You need an approved identity verification. Until then, the token's overview shows Complete KYC to verify.
- Check your plan. Token verification is included on some plans:

- Have your documents ready. You'll be asked for personal identification and contact details, supporting documents (such as a whitepaper, legal documents or certificates), and an explanation of your relationship to the project.
Apply
- Open My tokens, select the token, and on the Overview tab select Start verification under Get your token verified.
- On the overview step, check What you'll need, then select Start verification.
- Classify your asset. Choose an Asset category and a Sub-category. Capital structure, investment stage, industry sector and fundraising status are optional but help the review.
- Work through the steps for your category. They ask for the details and documents that apply to that kind of asset. Your answers and files are saved as you go, and you can save a draft and come back.
- On Review, check your answers and documents, read the declaration and select Submit application.
You'll see Application submitted, and the token's status changes to In review.
Statuses

| Rejected | It wasn't approved. | Select See why, update your details and submit again. |
| Verified | Your token shows the verified tick. | Nothing. |
Answering requested changes
- On the token's overview, select Review changes. The reviewer's notes are shown at the top.
- Requested changes lists each thing to fix. Files that need replacing are marked Needs a new file.
- Select Make changes. Your saved answers and files are kept; update only what's listed.
- On Review, upload any new files first, then select Submit application again.
What changes once you're verified
- Your token shows Verified by VestaScan on its page and in Explore.
- Verified tokens are listed first when investors sort Explore by Most backed.
- Comments can be turned on for your token page. See Comments.
If your identity verification later expires, your token keeps its tick, but you can't start a new token verification until you verify your identity again.
