Issue, burn, recover and send
The Supply tab on your token's management page is where tokens move. Open My tokens, select the token, then Supply.
At the top you'll see your balance, the circulating supply and the maximum supply (or Total supply if the supply is fixed). Below that are four actions. Which ones you see depends on the controls you chose at launch, and all but Send need the wallet that launched the token.
| Action | What it does | Available when |
|---|---|---|
| Send | Moves tokens from your wallet to someone else's. | Always |
| Issue | Creates new tokens and gives them to a holder. | The token is Mintable and the maximum hasn't been reached |
| Burn | Permanently destroys tokens you hold, reducing the supply. | The token is Burnable |
| Recover | Takes tokens back from a holder's wallet into yours. | The token is Revocable |
None of these work while transfers are paused. See Pause transfers.
Send tokens
- On Supply, choose Send.
- If you have more than one wallet, choose it under Send from.
- Under Recipient, enter their account ID or wallet address and select them.
- Enter the amount and confirm.
On an approved-investors token, the recipient must be on your approved investor list. If they aren't, you can approve them and send in one step: see Approved investors.
You can also send from your Vesta wallet.
Issue new tokens
- On Supply, choose Issue. The card shows how many are Left to issue before the maximum.
- Under Issue to, enter the holder's account ID or wallet address. On an approved-investors token they must already be approved.
- Enter the amount and confirm the Review the issue summary.
The new tokens are created and go straight to that holder.
Burn tokens
Burning destroys tokens for good and reduces the circulating supply. You burn tokens held in your own wallet; holders don't have a burn button in the app.
- On Supply, choose Burn.
- If you have more than one wallet, choose it under Burn from.
- Enter the amount (up to what's Available to burn) and confirm the Review the burn summary.
This can't be undone.
Recover tokens from a holder
Recovering takes tokens out of a holder's wallet without their consent and brings them back to yours. It exists for real problems: a holder who has lost access to their wallet, a failed compliance check, or a legal order.
- On Supply, choose Recover.
- Under Recover from, enter the holder's account ID or wallet address. The card shows Their balance.
- Enter the amount and confirm.
You can also recover an investor's tokens as part of removing them from the approved list, with Remove and recover.
